As we mark the 10th anniversary of Our Secure Future (OSF), we celebrate not only a decade of impact, but also the remarkable community of partners, practitioners, policymakers, and champions who have advanced the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda around the world.
What began as a bold vision has grown into a global movement grounded in a simple truth: peace is more durable, security is more effective, and societies are more resilient when women are meaningfully included in decision-making.
Over the past 10 years, OSF has worked alongside governments, multilateral institutions, civil society, and the private sector to translate the WPS agenda into tangible action. Together, we have supported the development and implementation of more than 80 Women, Peace and Security National Action Plans, helped establish the United States’ first-ever bipartisan Congressional Women, Peace and Security Caucus, and strengthened the work of more than 45 peacebuilding organizations across 31 countries. As new technologies reshape the security landscape, we have also continued to push the field forward through innovation, including the creation of the first Women, Peace and Security Artificial Intelligence Benchmark, helping ensure emerging technologies are developed and deployed with inclusive and evidence-based approaches.
While the global landscape continues to evolve, with new geopolitical challenges, technological disruption, and increasingly complex security threats, the principles underpinning Women, Peace and Security have never been more relevant. The need for inclusive leadership, evidence-based policymaking, and collaborative solutions is greater than ever.
